Cricket History and Honours

A Brief History of Cricket at Neston.

The first recorded game of cricket in Parkgate was in 1881 and then at it's present ground from 1895.

Neston had two sides from 1900 and they played in the Liverpool and District Competition from 1908 which was not formally put into a league structure until 1949, when Neston was one of the original 16 clubs from the Liverpool, Wirral and Lancashire areas. We have won it 5 times which is quite a feat as some clubs have never won it! We moved to the newly formed Cheshire League for the 1999 season, which made geographical sense as many clubs on the Wirral and Cheshire made up the Liverpool League. We were runners-Up in 2013 and then finally won in 2020.
