Emyr Evans (HWR 65)
Affectionally known as the biggest of big dogs, Emyr has not only been what Neston identify as their number one professional but also he is viewed by many as the club number one. He has been voted for by members as the player of the team and has an 83% win ratio for Neston. Emyr has represented Wales to the highest level and has three PSA titles to his name. Emyr is well known for his dogged and determined mindset with an incredible talent and shot making ability.
What to shout to cheer for him: Em / Big Dog
Tesni Murphy (HWR 9)
Arguably the most successful Welsh squash player of all time and an annoyingly nice person too. Tesni’s has had an incredible professional career and has equally had a hugely positive impact in to grassroot programmes such as ‘Girls in Motion’. She is a 3 time British Nationals Champion, 2 time Commonwealth medallist and 10 time Welsh National Champion. Tesni is well regarded for her tactical approach, mindset and good humour on court.
What to shout to cheer for her: Tez / Tezzinator
Owain Taylor (HWR 87)
The first of Neston’s new additions is Owain Taylor who is no stranger to NWCSL Division 1 squash. Owain has 5 PSA titles to his name and has had an incredible 2026 with three tournaments won in Australia. Owain has represented Wales at the highest level and we cannot wait to see him for the Shrimps.
What to shout to cheer for him: O-Wine / Owen
Sam Buckley (HWR 92)
This will be Sam’s third season with the Shrimps and Sam is a crowd favourite to watch, especially my mum. He moves around the court effortlessly and hits the ball harder than most of us can understand. Sam is an Irish National Champion and has two PSA titles to his name and I don’t think it will be long till that number is added to.
What to shout to cheer for him: Sam
Rory Richmond (HWR 204)
The second of Neston’s new additions for this season is Birmingham based, Scottish and proud, Rory Richmond. He is a two time U23 Scottish Champion and has represented Scotland in the European Team Championships. The whole section is excited to welcome Rory to the fold.
What to shout to cheer for him: Rory / Roarsome
George Thomas
Lived in New Zealand. George has long been recognised as the best boaster in the business and commands the court with impressive speed and high intensity. He was an academy coach in Syndey before moving to live in New Zealand where he was a district coach. He ended 2026 in style winning the Club Championships and The Northern Graded Open.
What to shout to cheer for him: Jorge / VAMOS!
Josh Davies
Josh is a two time Welsh National Champion who has represented Wales from U13 to U19 and a career high of five in Britain for his age. Josh has been a consistent presence in the top levels of North West squash and is a Neston Open Champion. Josh plays high up the court looking to volley with an aggressive style. When he’s not on holiday in Tenerife he is, in his own words, the perfect hybrid athlete.
What to shout to cheer for him: Josh
Mark Thomason
Our First Team Captain and inhouse cheerleader who is often responsible for stirring speeches delivered on the morning of games. Mark has the second best reverse angle in the team and by his own admission the best skid boast. Mark is a tactical and aggressive player banking on experience and a cool head under pressure. Mark was a five time Merseyside Junior Champion multiple senior Merseyside County Champion. He was awarded a place on the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme during University where he won a BUCS Individual title.
What to shout to cheer for him: Tomo
Blake Bettley
Blake is the third and final addition to the Neston squad this year after a successful campaign with Division 2 West Champions, Barnton CC. Blake enjoyed an impressive 71% win ratio at the top of division two which he credits solely to not cutting his hair. Blake is a talented and intelligent player who has just got better and better as 2025/2026 progressed and we are keen to see him continue to improve in to division 1 squash.
What to shout to cheer for him: Blake / Ba-lak-Eh
Will Silvester
The sexiest Silvester who has been improving year on year since he joined Neston. Will has been developing solidly within division 2 and got his first few games in division one for the club last year. He is a fantastic young talent who is improving year on year.
What to shout to cheer for him: Will / Will-he-Is
Ben Murphy
Ben has been an absolute rock of a player for Neston with some impressive scalps. He is a gritty, determined performer with the ability to slot nicks for fun. Ben has coached all around the world and represented the Welsh National Team for over 35s.
What to shout to cheer for him: Big Ben / Murph
Jon Hunter
Our Club Captain and ‘grandfather’ of the group who puts an incredible amount of effort into the team and the club. Jon is the most orthodox player of the group who holds the centre of the court effectively. He has a long and successful stint as a captain, masterminding Neston’s rise to the 1st Division and Cheshire Masters to a National Championship.
What to shout to cheer for him: Hunter / Huntsman
Simon Dutton
Recognised internationally as the greatest reverse angle boaster in the world. Simon won the Edgbaston Graded Open (B) and has captained Neston to several Division 2 titles. Simon is a fantastic match player able to adapt to his opponent and is not afraid to ‘old man squash’ his way out of problems.
What to shout to cheer for him: Si / Duttonator
Cameron Le Swain
Cameron is our second team captain and the longest standing Neston member of the club. Cameron has represented Loughborough University for squash and has been a fantastic captain of our second team. He is a superb match player who always manages to get points on the board win or lose. Last season across 21 matches Cameron only failed to get on the scoreboard 3 times. Which is probably better than his cricket record.
What to shout to cheer for him: Cammers / Cam

Optimal Solicitors
Optimal Solicitors is a national law firm supporting individuals and families through some of the most difficult and life-changing moments they may ever face. Our work has a particular focus on serious and life-changing injury. We support people whose lives have been changed by brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, catastrophic trauma, clinical negligence and other complex injuries. In those circumstances, legal support is about far more than pursuing a claim. It is about helping someone understand what happens next, accessing rehabilitation and specialist support, protecting their future and giving families some reassurance at a time when life can suddenly feel very uncertain.
Alongside our serious injury and clinical negligence work, our family law team supports individuals and families through a wide range of personal and often sensitive matters. Whatever brings someone to us, we believe good legal support starts with listening. Our clients need to feel understood, know that somebody is in their corner and have clear advice they can trust. With a multilingual team, we are also passionate about making legal support accessible to people who may otherwise face language or cultural barriers.
That same belief in supporting people extends into the communities around us. Over the years, Optimal has supported charities, community initiatives and organisations whose work makes a genuine difference to individuals and families. For us, being part of a community means more than simply being present. It means helping create opportunities, supporting people through difficult times and investing in things that can have a positive impact for years to come.
That is why we are proud to support Neston Squash & Racketball Club. Clubs like Neston offer so much more than sport. They give people somewhere to belong, friendships that can last for years and an environment where confidence, discipline and talent can grow. We particularly value the club’s commitment to encouraging junior players, developing local talent and making the sport accessible to the next generation.
For a young person, being given the opportunity to join a club, learn from others and discover what they are capable of can have an impact far beyond the court. Supporting that journey feels closely aligned with the values we hold at Optimal.
For us, sponsorship is not simply about putting the Optimal name alongside a club. It is about supporting the people behind it, investing in the next generation and helping strong communities continue to grow. We are proud to play a small part in Neston’s story.
