Summer has arrived & there's plenty going on at the club!

It has been great to see sport played in the sunshine this last month. In particular, it’s always easier for the little ones taking part in the Neston All Sports Stars Academy (NASSA) on a Friday evening to have fun when the sun is shining. Once again Bern Thorne has done a spectacular job in coordinating this group, including the parents and professional and volunteer coaches. The feedback continues to be outstanding. This year Bern Thorne has secured a new sponsorship with Garni for NASSA which is a major contributor to all sections, covering the cost of equipment and coaching. I would also like to thank the Gildings for their past support and sponsorship.

Thursday Group had a successful trip out to the Llangollen Canal on a horse drawn barge. Everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable day, and it was said to be one of the best trips yet. Summer games – bowls, boules and croquet started last week. Please encourage anyone you know who would enjoy the fun and games and company of our senior members. For details of Upcoming events in the Thursday Group go to the website and look at House Sports/Thursday Group.

It was a proud moment when club fundraising reached the target of £29,000 in just 6 weeks to renovate the Old Tennis Pavilion. The generosity of our members and the vision which Bern shared, of a dedicated indoor multi sports and social space for all ages, helped us to achieve our target. The Old Tennis Pavilion is the perfect space for yoga classes. You might be aware that Ellie Collins our Yoga teacher has continued to gain a following (adding a 5th class during the week) so it will be great for her to be able to utilise the new space!

We were most fortunate to be given tickets for five different events at the M&S Arena in Liverpool. A massive thanks to one of our members, Paul Collingsmith, for securing these for The Club. Paul is undertaking the Six Peaks Challenge in support of The Lily Foundation and a donation will be given to this Charity. Below is Rachel Lightburn and daughter, Alba (one of our keen NASSA children) with friends at the Strictly Come dancing show this week after winning tickets! They thoroughly enjoyed it.

A special mention goes to younger members - Daniel Sweetman, Owen Price, Euan Macpherson, Ethan Hogarth, Callum Wilson, Cos Maoudis and Coach - James Gardiner who represented West Cheshire & Wirral U17's winning team in the North of England County Championships. They scored 7 goals and had 0 goals against them overall - Brilliant.
