Squash Match report - September 2026

Big win to kick off the season for the firsts last night. Debuts from Blake Bettley and Rory Richmond

Kicking us off was a high quality local player match with Gorgeous George against Cory Harding. Cory played the best I’ve seen, George struggled with Cory who pounced on anything that was just short of a length. George stuck in there and managed to nip a game but it was always going to be a tough one. 3-1 loss.

On the other court we had Blake playing against a very tricky and experienced Pritchard. Bit of a pinball approach from Pritchard and he dug very deep and made it hard for the newbie. Blake managed to enforce his better standard of play and whilst it was hard work for him he ground out arguably the match winning tie 3-2

Rory was up next against Jamie Brown. Top performance from our new lad who was controlled on court. Impressive on court and a nice lad off it we’ve got a steal in him I think. Jamie fought back in the 3rd but Rory did the job well in a 3-0 win

On the other court Josh struggled with an ever quality Connor. Josh came out swinging in the 3rd and really started to force some errors but I think it was always a tough ask. Decent effort by Josh but a 3-0 loss

Then finally the big dog Emyr v lwamba. Emyr is looking sharp at this early start of the season. Cruise control in the first two games before lwamba really put a shift in in the third. Em never really looked out of control though and a solid 3-0 win to start the year

Massive win against a dangerous and tricky team.
